Hyundai Creta gets 3 as it turns 1
Hyundai Creta special edition
Hyundai Creta is celebrating its first anniversary in style. The crossover has three new variants to offer – Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition (SE), Executive (E+) and S+ Automatic. Besides, the Korean carmaker introduced a new Earth Brown colour across all the existing and new variants to spice up the anniversary fete.

Here we give the details of all the three new variants that are added to Hyundai Creta.

Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition (SE)
Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition, which is based on the SX+ variant of the regular Creta, is offered with dual-tone exterior, glossy black roof along with C-pillar and integrated spoiler, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, Jet wing inspired body graphics and silver skid plates.

The interior is highlighted by black-themed dashboard with red accents, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio bluetooth controls, black seat fabric with red inserts and also touch screen AVN system.

Interestingly, international shuttle player Saina Nehwal, who is also a brand ambassador for Hyundai India, was gifted with this Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition (SE) in Bengaluru recently as a mark of honour for her victory at Australian Open.

Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition is offered with two engine options – 1.6 dual VTVT petrol and 1.6 CRDi VGT diesel. Both come mated to a six-speed manual. The petrol version is priced at INR 12.23 lakh while the diesel avatar is available at INR 13.76 lakh (ex showroom Delhi).
Hyundai Creta Executive variant (E+)
Hyundai has also introduced a new Hyundai Creta Executive variant (E+) to mark the one year of the crossover’s existence in the market. Powered by 1.6-litre petrol engine, Hyundai Creta E+ comes with five-inch infotainment system, audio and Bluetooth controls on steering wheel and electrically-operated outside mirrors embedded with LED turn indicators. The exterior is also spiced up with sporty roof rail while the interior boasts rear AC vents as well.

Hyundai Creta S+ diesel automatic
Hyundai Creta S+ diesel automatic is the third new variant that this beautiful crossover has added to its family now. Also powered by the 1.6L CRDi VGT diesel power plant, this new version comes with a six-speed automatic and is priced at INR 13.58 lakh.

Rolled out in India in July 2015, Hyundai Creta clocked 1.25 lakh (125K) units in total global sales thus far. It has won several awards including the ‘Indian Car of the Year 2016’ crown.

“We would like to take this opportunity and express our gratitude to the customers who have shown trust in the Creta. The three new variants will add more value to the overall buying experience for customers,” says Rakesh Srivastava, Sr Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL).

But the mute question is whether Hyundai Creta continued to weave waves on the Indian roads given the increasing competition from the rivals – old and new. We will definitely take a stock of the Creta’s sales performance on its second anniversary next year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed till then. Am I not right, folks?
